최순우 옛집
The 1930s hanok where Choi Sunu (1916-1984); art historian, former director of the National Museum of Korea, and beloved author of 'Leaning Against the Entasis Columns of Muryangsujeon'; lived from 1976 until his passing. In 2004, it became the first property protected under Korea's National Trust for Cultural Heritage, preserved and opened to the public through citizens' efforts. The serene courtyard, arranged with Choi's refined aesthetic eye, features pine trees and stone objects. Visitors can sit on the wooden veranda (toenmaru) and enjoy a moment of quiet contemplation. Handwritten manuscripts and his personal collection are on display, along with hands-on programs like vintage typewriter experiences.
