Mokin Museum Mokseokwon

목인박물관 목석원

A museum specializing in folk wooden sculptures, originally opened in Insadong in 2006 and relocated to Buam-dong in 2019. It houses approximately 12,000 pieces including Joseon-era funeral bier carvings and wooden figures from shamanic shrines and temples, displayed across seven indoor galleries featuring wooden figures from around the world. The outdoor garden of approximately 10,000㎡ is the real highlight; Korean scholar stones, warrior stones, and attendant stones stand alongside stone figures from Japan, China, and across Asia, set against a backdrop of pine trees and Bugaksan mountain, creating a hidden garden atmosphere in the heart of the city.

Highlights

  • Folk wood sculpture museum in Buam-dong, about 12,000 pieces
