커피한약방
Coffee Han-yak-bang is a specialty coffee shop located on the historic site of Hyeminseo, the medical institution where the renowned Joseon physician Heo Jun treated commoners. Hidden in a narrow alley near Euljiro 3-ga Station, the moment you open the weathered door and step inside, you feel as if you've time-slipped back to a traditional Korean medicine house from the late Joseon era. The space is filled with antique furniture adorned with exquisite mother-of-pearl inlay, including an intricately decorated counter, folding screens, diamond-patterned windows, and a large aquarium that together evoke the distinctive atmosphere of an old apothecary. Even the peeling paint on the walls bearing the marks of time becomes part of the décor, transporting you to the era when Heo Jun prepared his medicinal remedies. Coffee is carefully hand-dripped using various copper drippers, with the filter coffee being particularly praised for its aroma. Across the street, Hyemindang makes fresh signature cakes and pastries daily to enjoy alongside your coffee. Note that the stairs to the second floor are quite steep. About 3 minutes on foot from Euljiro 3-ga Station Exit 6.
