Lotte World Adventure's autumn festival, Invitation to a Strange World (기묘한 세계의 초대), opens a door into a realm where reality and fantasy mix, built around the horror manga and anime Junji Ito Collection. Tomie and Soichi are the characters you will meet. According to Money Today, it is the first time the Junji Ito Collection world has been recreated in a theme park.
Outdoors on Magic Island, photo zones and video displays bring the characters and scenes to life, and the Junji Ito Photo Street runs behind the castle. After dark, a projection-mapping show plays on the castle's outer wall.
Inside, the Adventure area becomes a mystery-party space with performances and the Dark Fantasy Festival parade. You can also try costume and make-up experiences.
The themed food and goods are part of the fun: Tomie's ade comes with its syrup in a syringe-shaped container, and the Soichi sundae is topped with nail-shaped chocolate. Look out for a keycap keyring that screams when pressed and a Tomie "charm" school bag. Herald Business also reports a food tour with chef Choi Hyun-seok.
