Hi, I'm John; I make every guide by hand.
The idea

A plan worth having,
even when you don't follow it.

It tells you what fits, what goes together and what to skip. Follow it closely, wander away from it, or come back to it when the day changes.

벗 Beot: friend, in old Korean.

Things people ask

Questions, answered.

Yes. Share what you saved in the questionnaire; I keep what works, remove what doesn't, and rebuild the order into a realistic trip. After purchase you can also browse my catalog and tag places you want in or out.

Yes. Everything is priced per day with a one-day minimum, so a single-day guide is a normal order, not an exception.

Yes. One plan covers 1 to 10 days, and the first 3 days cost $29 together.

The places and why each one fits you, a realistic order, directions from stop to stop, when to go and what to order, and the story, cultural context and an insider tip for each place.

Compact is the full shape of the trip: the places, a realistic order, the timing structure, and why each place fits you. Compact Plus adds directions from stop to stop, when to go and what to order, and the story, cultural context and an insider tip for each place.

No. I plan it for your group and change it as the day goes.

Up to 8 hours together, with the planning behind the day included. I handle the Korean, help with ordering, reservations and local logistics, and change course when your energy, interests or the weather change. $200 per day covers up to 2 guests; each additional guest is +$50 per day, up to 4 without a private vehicle. Children under 4 join free. Groups of 5-7 and vehicle arrangements are quoted separately.

No. Third-party costs like meals, tickets, admission fees and transport stay yours along the way; the price is for the planning and my time. The same rule shapes member prices: the discount covers TravelBeot's own service fees, never third-party expenses.

Yes. I send the draft, you tell me what to change, and I revise it; that cycle repeats until you confirm the guide. Reasonable revisions within your original trip brief are included: swapping or removing places, adjusting order and pacing, moving places between days, easing travel fatigue, or fixing anything I misread. Material scope changes, like added travel days or substantially different destinations, may need a re-quote. And if the first draft is not right for you, you may request a full refund before requesting revisions or approving the final guide.

No. Nobody pays to be in a guide, and the places don't know you came from one.

Ask for a full refund before you request revisions or approve the final guide, and you get it. Once we start revising, the guide is yours and I work on it until you confirm it.

All of Korea, in principle. But I will push for Seoul, and not because it is the capital. It is the place visitors underrate most. Many head for the countryside hoping for the real Korea and end up doing things Koreans themselves would not call Korean, while the history they were looking for sits in Seoul.

Seoul holds close to two thousand years of Korea's history: Baekje's earthen fortresses at Mongchon and Pungnap, temples founded under Silla and Goryeo (the dynasty Korea takes its name from), the Joseon palaces and the wall around the old city, and on top of all of it the subway, the towers and the neon. Dynasties changed, but they were the same people speaking the same language, and each kept the temples and tombs of the one before instead of erasing them; every layer is still here. Tell me where you want to go in the questionnaire and I will plan it. If you have not decided, start here.
